English 9 Slideshow preparation.
Here is one last writer’s notebook topic to write about:
Among the topics you have selected to research, we see representation from the following areas:

Academia - 1
Financial world – 1
Historical – 2
Entertainment – 2
Sports – 4

Would you say that your class’s selections are a fair representation of the kinds of heroes Americans respect?

Homework - read for 30 minutes.  Slideshow presentations will be made Monday and Tuesday, Feb 3-4.  Writer's notebooks are really due tomorrow with this 4th assignment and we will have more slideshow time in the computer lab.

  2. Stalin isn't a hero to America, people here do not respect him. Yet with the topics, it can be said that those kinds of things are in fact linked to heroes. For people in our class mainly, sports or entertainment might be best related to American "heroes."

  4. I would have to say that this is an accurate representation of who the American people view as their heroes. American society has a tendency to promote the sports and entertainment figures as heroes. This is why people have a greater interest in those figures. I would disagree with who society views as important, because those historical, business, and academic figures often leave great impacts on society and the world.
